I am running to spark bold conversations and lead with your voice at the table.
I am running for Arvada City Council because quite frankly, I’m disappointed in the division and lack of respect we see in public dialogue today. Too often, conversations focus on blame and party lines instead of people. That’s not how I was raised, and it’s not the example I want to set for my daughter.
I grew up around my grandparents’ table in a loud, opinionated family. My grandmother was a Democrat and my grandfather a Republican. We passed around religion and politics like mashed potatoes. It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me the value of listening, disagreeing with respect, and remembering that relationships matter more than winning an argument.
Although City Council is a nonpartisan role, the most common question I get asked is, “What party are you?” My answer is simple: I am a Democrat raised by Republicans. I believe Arvada deserves leaders who hold space for conflicting views and model how to disagree without fear or hostility.
I don’t have a magic wand to solve every challenge, but I do have a compass—three values that guide how I lead and how I live and they are bravery, growth, and reliability. Bravery means speaking up, even when it’s uncomfortable, guided by values and not ego. Growth means listening to understand rather than speaking only to be understood. Reliability means showing up, following through and making space for others’ needs and schedules.
Through this campaign, I’ve hosted monthly conversations on key issues, whether at coffee shops, happy hours, or playgrounds with kids running nearby. Connection happens when we gather, listen, and share.
As your councilmember, I will prioritize safety and community wellbeing, addressing our aging infrastructure, roads, and paths, and ensuring transparency in City Council roles and responsibilities. More than any policy, I bring my passion for public service and a deep belief that every resident deserves to feel heard, respected, and valued. Knocking on doors doesn’t end with the campaign, that’s where real representation begins.
Values are the compass that help us navigate shifting priorities and challenges. Projects will change, opinions will differ and expectations will evolve, but integrity should never waver. I may not always share your perspective, but here’s my promise:
I will stand by my word. I will lead with honesty. You can count on me to show up every time.
